Teresa Alesch (GT), Stacy Brown (SC) Erin Olson (SC) Let's Get Connected!
First, we will explore the 1:1 Ning and begin making connections with other Iowa 1:1 teachers. Second, we will set up Twitter to be a useful networking and teaching resource (who to follow, how to follow, set up lists, etc.). Twitter PROS welcome to help!! If time allows, we will look at ways we can use Skype in the classroom. With all of these, we will take time to set up our accounts in ways that will make them relevant to our teaching.
Objectives:
Join the 1:1 laptops ning and sign-up for one group of interest
Sign-up, explore twitter, and begin following other educators
Explore how to connect with other educators on Skype
Sign-up and use a social bookmarking tool as a way to easily organize and find online resources
Explore Symbaloo
View an example of a PD Wiki setup
